That definition above is how Dictionary.com defines woo-woo.
I define it more like this:
I believe in Science.
I also believe Science can’t explain everything.
Therein lies The Woo.
Hello! My name is Nicole. I’m a former journalist who still writes for a living, and I am fascinated by The Woo — whether it’s meditation, mindfulness, the law of attraction, the Universe, the quantum field, spirituality, intuition, exercise, diet, mantras, energy healing, essential oils, therapy. You name it, I find it interesting (although I draw the line at Ouija boards. They terrify me).
Some of these “woo” concepts sound crazy, and some very well might be. But as someone who has spent her whole life asking the question, why am I here? And as someone who has contended with chronic levels of depression, I find The Land of Woo fascinating and sometimes, reassuring and healing.
This blog is where I explore The Land of Woo, looking beyond conventional wisdom to explore other modalities, concepts, and beliefs that may help me make sense of this Universe and my place in it.
Please note: This blog is in no way meant to dissuade anyone from getting the physical or mental treatment they need. I see Western doctors and therapists, take prescription medication, and I believe they all play an important role in keeping me healthy.
